Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Bash! National Read Across America
We would like to invite your child to participate each day as we honor Dr. Seuss’ birthday and National Read Across America Day on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Dr. Seuss (Theodore Seuss Geisell) has become an important part of children’s literacy development as they move into easy-to-read books at the primary level. Our goal is to make reading fun with a variety of events and activities.
Monday, Feb. 27th: Cat in the Hat Day! Wear red, white, and blue in honor of Dr. Seuss!. You will be able to enjoy oodles of noodles(spaghetti) for lunch.
Tuesday, Feb. 28th: Green Day! Be green from head to toe like a Dr. Seuss character we know! Make the Grinch proud! Will there be green eggs and ham for breakfast?
Wednesday, March 1st: Wacky Wednesday! Wear your wackiest, brightest, most crazy clothes and wear your hair inside, outside, or upside down so that Dr. Seuss himself would be proud!
Thursday, March 2nd: Silly Socks &/or Hat day! Wear your craziest socks so you can be like, “Fox in Socks!” You can also wear a fun hat and be like, “The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins!” We will have birthday cake at lunch to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
Friday, March 3rd: Pajama Day! Roll out of bed and right into school for our guest readers!
